Welcome to "My Year"

No offense to the rest of you, but 2010 is my year.

It belongs to me. I own it.

To kick things off, Northwest Passage returns to print next month. For those of you who haven't yet read this Eisner, Harvey, Shuster, and Doug Wright Award-nominated tale of rip-roaring high adventure, you can now do so in an even more affordable softcover edition. The new printing contains all of the extras featured in 2007's hardcover annotated edition, as well as a new cover by yours truly.

People who have wondered where I've been for the last little while and what I've been working on will finally get their answers in the fall, which sees the release of TWO major new book projects:

The first, Tower of Treasure, is an all-ages fantasy adventure with more action than you could buckle your swash at. It's the first book in my Three Thieves series, a new one of which will be appearing every fall for the next several years (the second book, The Sign of the Black Rock, is now in progress.)

The second book release slated for fall is Two Generals, my exhaustively-researched non-fiction account of my own grandfather's experiences in the Second World War. I've just turned in the pencil art for this book, and will be inking it between now and the spring, in time for it to be on shelves for Remembrance Day in November. Those of you who follow this blog regularly know exactly how much time, effort, and struggle has gone into this book, and I can tell you that it's all been worth it...I'm very proud of how the story has come together, and am looking forward to giving the art its final polish and getting it out there where all of you can read it.

So you can see why it's going to be a big year for me. Hopefully, it'll be a good one for you, too...at the very least, you can be sure that there are going to be some new graphic novels to read!
