Old Illustrations, Poker Edition

Maybe five or six years ago now, I created a bunch of graphics for an online poker site...one of the many that popped up around that time, just to disappear within a matter of months. It's too bad that it didn't last, because I went to a lot of trouble to talk the client into using a classy, old-fashioned 2-D illustration style, rather than the kind of stiff, creepy 3-D mannequins that most poker sites use.  They were colourful, and fun to do.  I just came across them while backing up some stuff on my hard drive, and realized they'd never been added to my new site.  So here they are!

There were a number of these characters, and while the client had some pretty bad ideas that he was set on (like a player who looked like Austin Powers, and one based on a real-life female poker player who he was clearly obsessed with), some of them were pretty fun, like the Mountie (the site was run offshore someplace, but the client was Canadian like myself) and turned out well.  I've posted my favourites here (there was also a mad scientist, which I posted here back in 2007).  Enjoy!

New eBay Auctions

It's been a while since I threw some original art up on eBay, but the holidays (and Christmas shopping!) are right around the corner, so now seems as good a time as any to generate some extra income.

To that end, I've just put up a page from Northwest Passage, and one from my Hawaiian Dick run.  Clicking the links will take you directly to their eBay pages.

Sometimes this works well, other times not so much.  So keep an eye on the auctions, maybe you'll get yourself a deal.

I'm in the process of figuring out a new, permanent online art store to replace the ComicSpace site that I cancelled last year.  I'll let you know when I've got something up and running.  Until then, go get those pages on eBay!

More War Stuff

Still not my D-Day scene (which I'm not going to post...I've got to leave something for the actual book), but getting closer:

Forty-seven pages and counting.
