"Northwest Passage" Trade Paperback Coming in February

If you're among the many, many people who, in the last six months, have asked me, "where can I find a copy of Northwest Passage?", this post will be good news.  A second printing of 2007's critically-acclaimed, Eisner, Harvey, and Shuster Award-nominated collected edition will be released in paperback in February 2010, complete with the snappy new wrap-around cover pictured below.

The hardcover has been out-of-print since May, so if you've been unable to find your very own copy of this rollicking, bare-knuckled frontier adventure, give it a couple of more months and you'll find your Canadian historical western itch much more easily scratched!

  1. That's terrific news. What are the chances of purchasing an autographed copy, or something of that sort? Is this the kind of thing you might offer on the site or on eBay?

  2. Best way to get an autographed copy is to catch me at a convention or store signing, something which I haven't been doing a lot of lately (other than a couple of recent appearances close to home). Next year, though, I'm going to be all over the map to promote Two Generals and Tower of Treasure. So keep an eye on the blog here to see if I'm going to be coming to your area (or close to it, at least).

If you live in the Himalayas or something, though, or just can't wait, you can email me directly and I'll put a book in the mail for you (assuming you're willing to cover shipping charges). I've even got a handful of copies left of the sold-out hardcover, if you're interested.

  3. Nice. Might pick this up to to along with my hardcover. Plus, I've been meaning to get more copies to give as gifts. Will this be the same size as the HC?

  4. Yes, it'll be 6x9, and on high-quality paper, just like the hardcover.

  5. Apologies for reviving and ancient thread, but...

I came across this at my local comic shop not too long ago, and just finished it. The commentary seems to imply that there's more to come, but I don't see anything on your site or elsewhere about subsequent volumes. What's up with it?

  6. Hi Nolly!

There is, in fact, more to come...just not right away. The book did so well that I was swamped with offers from other publishers, and had to take some of them. But I'm hoping to script a sequel this year.
