This week, though, I finally arrived at a scene that has guns, helmets, equipment, men yelling at each other, etc. You know, war stuff. The scene depicted here is a training exercise rather than the real thing, but that hasn't stopped one poor officer from shooting himself in the leg. As always, you can click these for larger versions:
This scene has taken some time, thanks to the number of characters and amount of historical detail. But it's the tip of the iceberg, really. It's pretty much just practice for my Juno Beach scene, which is coming up in about another thirty pages.

These look great. I have been building Canadian troops in LEGO for an upcoming LEGO convention and Juno Beach and Normandy have been much on my mind.
Since I posted this scene, I've found a number of small inaccuracies in terms of the gear they're carrying. I'll post the corrected version once I've made the changes, but until then, if you happen to a Canadian military history nerd who's also spotted the mistakes, rest assured I've got it covered. :)
Looking good.
Has a very European BD feel to it.
