The pages looks terrific, Scott! I really like the acting done on the page and the pauses between panels--the characters seem to really be thinking. The color is top-notch too! Looking forward to the final book.
Thanks, Lex. Lots of things make a great comic, but I've always thought that the characters' performances are one of the most important. Good animators know it, as did/does Will Eisner, Jeff Smith, and their ilk. I've never understood why more comics artists don't make it a priority in their work.
Oh, this is great. I love the colouring on all of these pages. Lex is right, the acting of the characters is convincing, expressive and thoughtful. Can't wait to pick these up.
Scott Chantler is an acclaimed graphic novelist and popular commercial illustrator, whose past and present clients include McDonald’s, Reebok, Macy’s, Rogers, Wiley & Sons, The New York Daily News, The National Post, The Toronto Star, Maclean’s, Nickelodeon Magazine, and Design Edge Canada.
To date, he has been nominated for three Shuster Awards, three Harvey Awards, a Doug Wright Award, a Russ Manning Award, and an Eisner Award--but has somehow managed to avoid actually winning any of them.
He is currently working on two major book projects: TWO GENERALS, a non-fiction graphic novel based on his own grandfather's experiences in WWII; and THREE THIEVES, a series of all-ages fantasy adventure graphic novels.
